My Experience at Adventure

Hello, random people reading this, I am Isabel. Just Isabel. Hi. You could call me the average middle schooler, but I would consider myself more than that.  For example, I am a storyteller, not a writer, there’s a difference.  Right now, I am telling you my story.  And this story is about how life as a seventh grader at Adventure STEM has been for me.

Adventure has been an adventure, a journey to the future.  I have been on it’s road for three years now, feeling the ups and the downs.  It has given me experiences of thrill and achievement that I would not have been able to get anywhere else, but it also makes me feel the pressure to be a better technology student, to rise above the expectations.  Adventure has made it almost impossible for me to not do my best because I know how it will affect myself and others.

Adventure is a conference of debates and presenting.  I would not be the person I am today if I had not done dozens of presentations in all of my classes.  Once upon a time, I was a wee little fifth grader who was absolutely terrified of the thought of standing in front of the class and presenting.  Now, my favorite part of a project is presenting. One reason I enjoy it so much is that I can be myself and include things that I would normally say mixed with the content of the project.  Also, even if our project isn’t very complete or polished, presenting allows me to explain the extra details that are not included, making it seem more complete.

Adventure is a competition, not for best but for better; to give it all you have, then more.  For example, I am constantly building up my video editing skills to be able to make videos without an effort.  Now that I can make them easily, I work towards making them in different and more creative ways.  This skill is very crucial for projects and presenting in almost every class at Adventure.

I am an explorer, looking for new things and finding interest in the strangest places.  This means that the ever expanding technology at Adventure has helped me learn new things and become the person that I am today.  Though it has been a huge challenge, Adventure has been the educational support that I needed to reach my current level of success.  Looking back at myself in fifth grade, I believe that I have grown so much, not just in height, but also in my experience and knowledge of technology.
