Hello, my name is Isabel.  I go to Adventure, a program that is based off of STEM, which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. At adventure, we do lots of projects, use technology, and collaborate on assignments. Also, since Adventure is for grades 6-8, students can make and keep friends through middle school instead of completely starting over in middle school.

Adventure is all about technology.  Almost every period we use computers to work on projects, play educational games, and do other work.  Also, some of the computers have Adobe which is the program we designed our games on.  In this program, we drew our characters and backgrounds for an action game.  Then coded them so they were functional.

There is also lots of group work in Adventure.  Group work helps students in the future since almost all jobs require collaboration skills.  Also, working in groups often makes the project easier instead of one person rushing to get everything done.  The people in the group can do what they are good at.  For example, if someone was great at planning, and someone else wasn't, but instead could write well, they could partner up and help one another.

Even though Adventure uses technology, it can be very challenging.  The projects often take more time than normal classwork.  The assignments often require students to do research on the internet to find answers to questions and learn more about a topic.  Researching can be hard since you don't always know what you are looking for.  Also, working in groups can be difficult if someone in your group isn't doing their best.   These things make it more challenging than a normal school, but also teach students about how to deal with many real life problems.

Adventure also has lots of events including student hnights.  Student exhibition nights require students to present what they have done to an audience.  Students also present in front of their class a lot to practice their talking skills as well as how to present ideas.  This often takes a lot of time to prepare, but pays off in the end. In conclusion, Adventure prepares students for the future by using technology, presenting, and working in groups.
